Wine Sales Manager Leslie Higgs
Leslie is a self-professed lover of food, wine and the pursuit of knowledge–in other words she’s a food-geek, cork-dork and all-round nerd. Education for self-edification as well as superior service has always been a focus for her. In her first management role, just out of college, she realized that knowing service standards and practices was not enough. She had to know EVERYTHING! So she followed her degree in English Literature with a degree in Culinary Arts and completely fell in love with the restaurant biz.
It was during her tenure as General Manager at Jeffrey’s that Leslie discovered the vast and amazing world of wine. And she fell in love all over again. She was (and still is) absolutely fascinated by the myriad combinations of soil, sun, grape and tradition that result in an amazing bottle of wine. Leslie followed her time at Jeffrey’s with a stint as Wine Buyer for Mirabelle and then joined the MAX’s team in 2010.
Since then she has focused on leading a service team to provide exceptional wine experiences through knowledgeable and friendly service. Staff and guest wine education is always at the forefront of her mind. And in 2013, Leslie combined her passion for wine and education in a new undertaking: Lasco Wine University. Along with engineering amazing wine experiences in the restaurant on a daily basis, Leslie is educating and shaping the next wave of wine leaders for the company.
